Our team helps you navigate formulation, labeling, and regulatory compliance, making us a true end-to-end partner.

"How

Understanding Congee Pouch OEM and ODM Services

OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturing) means we produce your congee exactly to your specifications, using your recipe or our standard formulas. ODM (Original Design Manufacturing) means we provide our own recipe development, packaging design, and product innovation. For private label congee, both options are available. You can choose a classic plain congee or develop a signature blend with red dates, lotus seeds, or pumpkin.

ZeaGrove’s congee pouches can be manufactured in various formats: aluminum foil retort pouches, clear high-barrier pouches, or stand-up pouches with a spout. We also offer different fill sizes from 150g to 500g. Our team will guide you through the best packaging choice based on your target market, shelf life requirements, and retail channel.

Step 1: Initial Consultation and Product Specification

Your first step is to contact ZeaGrove with your product concept. Tell us about your target consumers, preferred flavors, and packaging format. We will schedule a consultation to discuss your budget, volume, and launch timeline. This is where we align on the congee’s viscosity, grain size, and seasoning profile, ensuring the final product matches your brand image.

During this stage, we also review any documentation you have, such as ingredient restrictions for your market (e.g., EU or US FDA). We provide a feasibility assessment, including potential shelf life and production challenges. Our goal is to identify any issues early so your project stays on schedule.

Step 2: Recipe Development and Sampling

After the consultation, our R&D team develops a congee recipe that meets your specifications. We test different rice varieties, water ratios, and cooking times to achieve the desired texture. For ODM projects, we may propose innovative flavor combinations like chicken and mushroom congee or sweet red bean congee.

Once the initial recipe is ready, we produce small samples in our pilot kitchen. These samples are shipped to you for tasting and feedback. We iterate on the recipe until you are completely satisfied. This step is critical because it ensures your congee stands out on the shelf and meets consumer expectations.

Step 3: Packaging Design and Material Selection

Packaging is a key part of your congee’s success. ZeaGrove offers a range of pouch materials that protect the product from light, oxygen, and moisture. Our design team can create custom artwork that reflects your brand identity, including full-color printing with your logo and nutritional claims. We also help you choose between retort pouches (for long shelf life) and pasteurization pouches (for refrigerated distribution).

We provide samples of the actual pouch material so you can feel the texture and see the print quality. We also test seal integrity and compatibility with the retort process. Our team ensures that the packaging meets your market’s regulations, such as FDA food contact materials or EU plastic directives.

Step 4: Pilot Production and Quality Assurance

Before full-scale manufacturing, ZeaGrove runs a pilot production batch. This allows us to verify the recipe, packaging, and process parameters. We conduct physical, chemical, and microbiological tests on the congee pouches to ensure safety and consistency. We also perform shelf-life studies to determine the expiration date.

Our quality assurance team checks every batch for viscosity, pH, water activity, and commercial sterility. We provide you with a certificate of analysis (COA) for each production run. This transparency gives you peace of mind that your private label congee will be safe and compliant.

Step 5: Full-Scale Production and Logistics

Once the pilot batch is approved, we move to full-scale production. Our factory is equipped with automatic filling and sealing lines that handle large volumes efficiently. We maintain strict batch coding and traceability systems, so every pouch can be tracked from raw material to finished good.

ZeaGrove also assists with logistics. We can arrange sea freight, air freight, or warehousing in our bonded warehouse. We handle all export documentation, including commercial invoices, certificates of origin, and health certificates. Our goal is to make the import process as smooth as possible for your business.

Why ZeaGrove is the Right OEM Partner for Your Brand

ZeaGrove has extensive experience in producing Asian-style congee and grain-based products. Our factory is certified with ISO 22000 and HACCP, ensuring international food safety standards. We use high-pressure retort sterilization to achieve ambient shelf stability, so your congee does not need preservatives or refrigeration.

We pride ourselves on fast response times and flexible minimum order quantities. Whether you need 1,000 pouches for a market test or 100,000 for a national launch, we can accommodate your needs. Our team is dedicated to your brand’s success, offering continuous support even after production begins.
